Premier League football fans have all become accustomed to the familiar name of Jamie Vardy popping up on the scoresheet for Leicester City. The striker made history by becoming the first player to score against all of the ‘top six’ clubs in one season.

His strike against Manchester City may have ended in a 5-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium but it was a landmark strike for the Foxes fox-in-the-box as he notched his thirteenth league goal of the campaign.

Vardy has now become the first player to score against Man City, Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea in same season to demonstrate his big-game ability - hopefully a decent omen for England at the 2018 World Cup.

That took his tally to 23 goals in 43 games against top six sides, the most of any player in the Premier League over the past four seasons - seven of which have come against Liverpool, the most he’s scored against any other club.

Leicester boss, Claude Puel told the Leicester Mercury: “I hope he will continue until the end of the season because we still need to play some great teams, like Tottenham for example near the last game of the season,

“It is important he continues his fantastic work. He shows his quality and he is a fantastic player and we love to have him in the team, like Riyad Mahrez.”

Two goals against Arsenal on the opening day of the season began the record run. A month later Vardy bagged a penalty against Chelsea at the King Power Stadium, before netting again against Liverpool later in September to continue the knack of form against the top sides.

November resulted in another goal for the forward when he scored against Tottenham in a 2-1 win with strikes against Manchester United and Liverpool to follow in December.

He's also registered strikes against both Liverpool and Tottenham in the return fixtures before bagging against City last weekend. However, the Foxes have only won one of the seven matches played against the top six English sides this season. Vardy will be looking to extend his hot-streak when Leicester face Arsenal on March 17. Buy your Leicester v Arsenal tickets here. Spurs then visit Leicester on the last day of the season. In the meantime, Vardy remains in top form as Claude Puel continues to revive a Leicester City team who continue to surprise and entertain football fans on a regular basis.
